Recently scientific research was undertaken in Aritia and Puti to check the population of the three native species of the island—the Burmese pythons, the alligators, and the frogs. They discovered that even though the alligator and frog populations were going well, there could be too many pythons.
Specifically, in Aritia there were a lot of pythons. In Puti they counted 1000.
This might be a problem because the pythons in the everglades of kartia they mostly eat small mice, but sometimes they eat frogs. We are wondering if they might eat too many of the native species of frogs and we might see a massive decrease in the population of frogs.
Stay tuned to this blog for updates on this groundbreaking research!
